The Swans Sub 60 combines contradictorily qualities. Despite the very compact design, this active subwoofer is able to reproduce extremely low frequencies with a strong sound pressure and convincing momentum. The down-fire passive membrane and the direct beaming long throw-drivers allow a very evenly distribution of sound waves throughout the room without loosing any accuracy at the pulse reproduction. The passive membrane construction effectively prevents unwanted flow noise of the usual bass-reflex constructions and increases the membrane surface very effective. To reduce the amount of vibration stress, oscillation amplitudes and standing waves to a minimum, the speaker housing was designed in a very complex way.
